November 2019 - Chillies 2 U

This month we were happy to welcome Ian Paxton of Chillies 2 U to speak to us.

Ian is a sheep farmer who decided to do something with the poly-tunnels he used in lambing season when they were not in use. So Chillies 2 U was born.

Ian was a very good speaker with lots of recipe ideas for many different types of chillies. He doesn't grow the hottest (Carolina reaper) but buys it in for 'the chilli-heads'!

A very interesting and entertaining talk indeed
Ian and his wares - dried chillies, sauces and some fresh chillies too
We all bought one or more sauces and Ian left us some fresh chillies to try

Walk 17th November 2019 - 100 Miles for 100 Years of Oxfordshire FWI

Sunday 17th November

Walk from Great Western Park to the pub at Upton for Sunday lunch.

This was our first effort for the challenge set by Oxfordshire FWI
'100 Miles for 100 Years'
to cover 100 miles between us for the centenary of Oxfordshire Federation of Women's Institutes.

We were fortunate to be accompanied part of the way by Matthew Dever who took photographs of the group.

Ready for the off

Through Great Western Park

Out in the countryside

Along the old railway line
Lunch was delicious! (Photograph taken by pub staff)
