Who We Are!

About GWP WI

GWP WI formed in October 2015 and we are steadily growing and always welcome new members.

GWP stands for Girls With Power! - as well as Great Western Park where we meet.

If you fancy making friends and having fun, we would love to meet you!

We have a varied programme including crafts, guest speakers and socials. There is an opportunity at every meeting to catch up with members over a cuppa, and of course a slice of cake.

Meetings are held monthly and last about 2 hours.

Where: Great Western Park Northern Community Centre, Didcot, OX11 6AS
When:  3rd Thursday of the month
At: 7.30 – 9.30pm

2021 Annual Membership Fee £44.00 due 1st April (if you join later in the year,  the fee will be pro-rata). First-time visitors are welcome to attend for free, after which, the cost is £5 for a non-member.

About the WI

The Women's Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK. The WI celebrated its centenary in 2015 and currently has almost 220,000 members in approximately 6,300 WI's.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities
